"If your goal in life is simply to punch a clock, pay your bills, and take the occasional vacation, you can get that kind of education almost anywhere. But if you want to live a life full of passion and vigor, come to St. Andrews, where you will learn to think and question and cry and love, and you'll create that kind of life for yourself." ~ Colin Christopher, '93

✢ The Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy Assisting program at St. Andrews is seeking Candidacy Status, one of the first steps in the accreditation process, with the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE). The accreditation process takes approximately two years, and is initiated before the first cohort of students enters the program and completed prior to the first cohort graduating from the program. The program must be ACOTE-accredited prior to students graduating from the program for students to be eligible to sit for the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) exam immediately upon graduation. Should the program not receive accreditation, graduates would not be eligible to sit for the NBCOT exam or obtain state licensure. Passing the certification exam is required to obtain state licensure as an occupational therapy assistant.
