The library provides one-on-one assistance in locating, retrieving, and evaluating information in various formats whenever the Library is open. Come in and ask for help, email Mary McDonald, or call for an appointment.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
Something you need not available at DeTamble Library? We can get it from another library. Submit a request through WorldCat or fill out a form in the Library, or email Mary McDonald.
Library Web Pages and Research Guides
The library provides Web Pages and Research Guides that are tools to help students, faculty and staff find basic information about the Library, and to locate and evaluate the information they need. Research Guides provide pathways to subject specific resources in addition to help with remote access, citing sources, and research strategies.
Tools and Space for Student Learning
The Library’s flexible space provides convenient areas and resources to encourage student learning. This includes open areas for group work and classes, the Reynolds Reading Room, the Writing Center, and individual quiet areas. Come in and use our computers, printers, photocopier, and vending machines. We are always happy to loan pencils, pens, and other office supplies at the Information Desk.
We teach Library Orientation and Library Instruction sessions. These may be held in the Library or a classroom outside the Library. Sessions are available as requested by faculty members and designed through collaboration to meet the information needs of the students in specific classes.
St. Andrews Archives
Located on the first floor of the library, the Archives documents the heritage of St. Andrews and those institutions that preceded it: Flora Macdonald College in Red Springs (1896-1961) and Presbyterian Junior College in Maxton. (1929-1961). For more information, see the St. Andrews Archives Webpage.
