Equestrian Assistant Coach and Instructor in the Hunter Seat Program

Reports to: Equestrian Director
FLSA Status: Salaried, Exempt

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teaching riding lessons
  • Organizing, and coaching team practices
  • Care of team horses and equipment
  • Organizing in-house horse shows
  • Traveling with team to IHSA Horse Shows
  • Must be flexible with work schedule and available to work weekends and evenings when necessary.
  • Must be able to travel during show season.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to use electronic mail software to include Microsoft Outlook.
  • Ability to use internet browser software to include Internet Explorer.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software to include Word and Excel.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to spend a considerable amount of time standing, sitting and/or walking.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to spend a considerable amount of time using their hands to write, handle, control, or feel object.
  • Employee must be able to work a variety of hours and schedules.
  • Other physical demands are proximate to comparable professional positions in the public or private sector.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position primarily works outdoors teaching in an arena in all seasons.  Some work is in a climate-controlled environment with a moderate to high noise level.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & TRAINING:

  • Bachelor and/or Master’s Degree.
