Center for Academic Success

Welcome to the duPont Center for Academic Success (CAS), located in Pate Hall. We offer students currently enrolled at St. Andrews weekly Engaged Instruction study sessions, weekly tutoring sessions in various courses, walk-in CAS assistance, and by-appointment mentoring and tutoring sessions.

The Writing Center, located on the third floor of the DeTamble Library, offers students an excellent, free resources to assist with any writing assignment. Tutors are available to assist with any stage of the writing assignment including organization, development, and editing written work. Students can choose a drop-in session, make an appointment, or choose to have an online tutoring session via Skype. Write better papers…Get better grades…Make use of this service!

Need a quiet place to study?

We invite you to visit CAS in Pate Hall. We have study rooms available for individual or group work. Our well-equipped computer lab has Wi-Fi accessibility, a duplex laser printer and assistive devices available for student use.

Need to schedule a test?

Email [email protected] to schedule testing in the Center.

Professors and students may work with CAS to make arrangements for testing for students missing regularly scheduled tests/exams for school sanctioned events. Also, International students may be offered extended time and the use of a bilingual dictionary.

In addition, tests can be administered in the CAS for students with physical or learning disabilities that make them eligible for accommodations. Such accommodations include: extended time, separate setting, computer use for typing, reader, scribe, breaks as needed, large print, etc. Academic Mentors proctor testing in the CAS. Students must schedule testing in advance, preferably 72 hours.
