Rob is a 2011 graduate of St. Andrews University who majored in Politics and Equine Business Management. He first joined the equestrian staff from 2012-2014 as an Assistant IHSA Hunter Seat Coach. Rob completed his Masters’ in Business Administration in 2016 and returned to St. Andrews as an adjunct instructor for the 2016-2017 school year while also running an equestrian business in North Carolina.
Although Rob has spent time growing a for-profit equestrian program, he also has experience developing and growing an equestrian nonprofit. Rob’s life work thus far is centered around service. His passion and skill for developing people through the equestrian sport is evident. He gives back to the sport through judging, donation-based clinics, and teaching in the classroom and at the barn.
A talented rider himself, Rob was one of the first equestrian students on the St. Andrews IHSA Hunter Seat Team to win an individual championship at IHSA Nationals. Since college, Rob has enjoyed competing in the hunters and jumpers both locally in the Sandhills area and nationally such as the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, FL. Rob rides and shows in his spare time for pure enjoyment and personal growth.
Rob comes back to us from a position with the United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA), one of the largest equestrian sport nonprofits in the country. Rob worked in the Development Department and was able to be a part of influential decisions pertaining to grants, scholarships, and making the sport more accessible and inclusive to all. We welcome Rob back to St. Andrews officially August 31, 2020 as the Associate Program Director for the Equestrian Program.
