Interlibrary Loan (ILL) services are provided to meet the information needs of St. Andrews students, faculty, and staff. This cooperative service among libraries enables patrons to acquire books, articles, and other materials which we do not own or have access to.
Submitting Requests
You may submit requests directly through WorldCat by clicking on the Request item through Interlibrary Loan link. You may also stop by the Library and fill out a form or email your request to the Librarian. For any questions, please contact Mary McDonald or call at 277-5023.
Cost
Currently there is no cost to order and receive books and articles.
Communication
Your campus email address will be used to contact you for confirmation and to let you know when you receive a borrowed item. Articles will be emailed as attachments to your campus email address.
Textbooks
Textbooks may not be ordered on Interlibrary Loan.
Eligibility
Service is only provided to current St. Andrews students, faculty, and staff. Other patrons should contact their educational institutions or public library.
Types of Resources
Books and articles are the most common items requested through Interlibrary Loan. Other resources such as dissertations, theses, videos, and microfilm may also be ordered, but may have some special limitations. All due dates and restrictions placed by the lending library must be adhered to.
Limitations
There is a maximum of 5 requests at a time. Exceptions can be made if you see Mary McDonald.
