LAURINBURG, N.C. – St. Andrews hosted the IHSA Semi-Finals with their Western team placing first with 36 points. “To have so many great colleges represented here on our campus was amazing,” said Carla Wennberg, St. Andrews western coach. “Our students were great hosts.” The competition started out with Mark Mowbray from Rhodesdale, MD, winning the Individual Open Reining class. But more than riding, Peggy McElveen learned about the relationship between the rider and her horse. Instead of just going through the motions, she preferred influence – a skill that has served her well throughout her life. LAURINBURG, N.C. – The annual Fortner-Ragan awards banquet at St. Andrews honored Dannye Romine Powell with the Ethel Fortner Award for her lifetime of writing. LAURINBURG, N.C. – On Thursday, March 2, St. Andrews hosted a reception for Tower Club members, an annual event for donors who give $1,000 or more to the St. Andrews Annual Fund. The event, usually held in the fall, was postponed due to Hurricane Matthew. Special recognition was given to the Laurinburg Area Campaign volunteer leadership who raised $506,949 for St. Andrews from the local community during the 2015-2016 academic year. Laurie Nederveen has joined St. Andrews as the MBA Program Outreach Coordinator. In this part time position she will be focusing on recruiting new MBA students for on-campus classes and also the live-via-the-web option. She will promote the program to enhance partnerships with businesses that may wish to serve as a practicum site or sponsor employees for the Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
