DeTamble Library was constructed in 1964 to the be the centerpiece of campus. It is the only three-story building on campus and overlooks Lake Ansley C. Moore. The library is located closest to the causeway to the residential side of campus, serving as symbolic bridge between the academic and social life of St. Andrews. In 2023, the library transitioned to a ‘learning commons’ service model, an emerging model in academic libraries which houses academic support, tutoring, counseling, and research assistance under one roof.
The library will celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2024 and we are asking you to partner with us in making the interior as vital as the services offered here.
You can learn more about the new service model at www.sa.edu/commons.
This project will involve replacing carpet in the public areas on the first and second floors.
