A Resolution Honoring Dr. William Loftus

On Thursday May 20th, faculty and staff honored Bill Loftus with a Resolution (reading, framed document, and framed photographs) acted on by our Faculty Executive Committee on behalf of the faculty.

For His Service To

St. Andrews Presbyterian College and

St. Andrews University (A Branch of Webber International University)


WHEREAS Dr. William J. Loftus has served as friend and mentor to faculty and as a dedicated and exemplary professor to countless students of French, Spanish, Literature, and General Education from 1974 to 2021, earned the full honor and distinction of Professor Emeritus of French;

WHEREAS he has faithfully guided the institution in multiple leadership roles including Dean of Students, Executive Assistant to the President, Vice President of Institutional Planning and Effectiveness, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College, and Acting President of the University; and

WHEREAS he has been an ideal representative for the institution, and on numerous occasions recognized for his outstanding leadership and service to the larger Scotland County community and the State of North Carolina;

BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Faculty Executive Committee, acting on behalf of the faculty of St. Andrews University, extends to Dr. William J. Loftus the highest praise and deepest appreciation for these forty-seven years of dedicated service.
