NC Governor Declares State of Emergency as State Deals with Coronavirus

The governor has declared a state of emergency in North Carolina as of yesterday. If you read the article below, he is not asking for schools to close or for events such as the ACC basketball tournament to be canceled. He is just taking the next steps in preparation “in case”. There are 7 people who have tested positive in NC. One was in the Long Term Nursing Home in Washington, one came back from Italy and five were at the Biogrn conference in Boston. We need to make sure all are informed and calm, that we update our website, that the third floor in Wilmington is ready if we need it, and that every single faculty member is ready to teach their course online.
