Sandhills Program

The St. Andrews at Sandhills Program was established in 1991. Evening and weekend classes leading to the Bachelor's degree are offered in the Sandhills Program off-site instructional program on the campus of Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst, NC. Classes are scheduled to accommodate the needs of working adults and family members who are unable to pursue a day program. This allows “nontraditional” students the opportunity to finish the junior and senior years of college through evening and Saturday classes, without disrupting a career or family life.

Each of the major programs provides depth of knowledge in the subject area. Professors do more than present the material, their classes challenge the student to think critically and to express ideas clearly and effectively. Nontraditional students from a wide variety of backgrounds bring invaluable, firsthand insights into the relationship of classroom material to the “real world.” Finishing a degree or adding a second degree can be critically important for long-term career advancement — whether the goal is to gain up-to-date knowledge in a particular field, or to sharpen the reasoning and communication skills that are important in every aspect of professional life.

 Majors are available in:

  • Elementary Education
  • Interdisciplinary Studies
  • Psychology

Teacher's certification is available for those with a completed bachelor's degree.

A military-friendly college, St. Andrews is a member of the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges Consortium dedicated to helping service members and their families get college degrees.
