International Students

English as a Second Language Admissions Requirements

ESL Students must submit certified copies of high school transcripts. St. Andrews University will accept in-progress transcripts to determine acceptance. If you are still completing high school at the time of application, you must submit an official copy of your most current transcript. A FINAL TRANSCRIPT must be submitted once you graduate. Transcripts must be in their original language and accompanied by a certified English translation. ESL students must complete English courses throughout their high school experience to be considered eligible for the English as a Second Language Program.

Official High School Transcripts may be emailed to stephensgl@sa.edu by a school official or sent via postal service mail to 1700 Dogwood Mile, Laurinburg, North Carolina, USA 28352.

Please note: In order for your I-20 to be released, St. Andrews University must have a postal service mailed hard copy of your FINAL TRANSCRIPT showing date of graduation.

  1. Letter of Recommendation from an English Professor

All English as a Second Language students must complete a Letter of Recommendation

from an English Professor. A letter of recommendation is a paragraph or two speaking

upon the students success in the classroom. It is to speak upon the characteristics of the

student as well as their strengths and weakness with the English Language. This item

can be sent via email to stephensgl@sa.edu

 

 

Undergraduate First Time Freshman Admissions Requirements

International First Time Freshman Students must submit certified copies of high school transcripts. St. Andrews University will accept in-progress transcripts to determine acceptance.   1. English Proficiency Scores

All English Proficiency Scores must be sent through the appropriate Testing Website. An official copy of these scores through the website must be submitted in order to be considered for acceptance.

Please Note: ALL English Proficiency test scores MUST be sent directly from the appropriate testing service website. No test scores any other way will be considered eligible for acceptance. 

If English is not your native language, provide evidence of proficiency in the English language by submitting scores on one of the following:

      1. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) taken within 18 months of the application.  (School Code: 5214)
      2. International English Language Testing Systems (IELTS) taken within 18 months of the application.

If English is your native language, provide evidence of proficiency in the English language by submitting scores on one of the following:

      1. Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) taken within 18 months of the application.  (School Code: 5214)
      2. American College Testing (ACT) taken within 18 months of the application.  (School Code: 3146)

 

Undergraduate Transfer Student Admissions Requirements

  2. Proof of High School Graduation

Proof of High School Graduation can consist of any document stating the date of graduation from the High School. This can be a scanned copy of your high school transcript or diploma, but the document MUST have a graduation date. Item can be emailed to International Admissions Counselor, Gaby Stephens, stephensgl@sa.edu.

  1. College Transcripts

International Transfer Students must submit certified copies of their Post- Secondary transcripts. St. Andrews University will accept in-progress transcripts to determine acceptance. If you are still completing College at the time of application, you must submit an official copy of your most current transcript. A FINAL TRANSCRIPT must be submitted once you graduate. Transcripts must be in their original language and accompanied by a certified English translation. Students must complete English courses throughout their College experience to be considered eligible for Undergraduate studies.

If the Transfer Student is studying in a foreign country, all transcripts must be evaluated for credit transfer. If the Transfer Student is studying within the United States, an official copy of the transcripts must be admitted for transfer credit evaluation.

  1. Evaluation of International Transcripts

If the College Transcript is from a foreign country, students will earn college level transfer credits by submitting the transcripts through International Credential Evaluation  or World Education Services . It is the students responsibility to review the websites and list St. Andrews University as a recipient. The cost of the evaluation will be covered by the student.

     6. SEVIS Transfer Form

Transfer Students who are currently studying in the United States on an active I-20 from another institution. Completing the SEVIS Transfer form will save the student from repaying the I-901 SEVIS fee and having to apply for another F-1 VISA.
